Volunteering Activities
One aspect of Jennifer's overall business plan is to give back to the
community. She also strives to be active in the Arlington arts scene.
In addition to showing her work at boutiques and galleries in the Arlington
area, she has volunteered at the Ellipse Art Center on
North Fairfax Drive. In addition to helping out at gallery openings and
receiving guests during normal hours of operation, she also recently helped
with the jury process (although she did not actually sit on the jury)
for the Arlington High Schools' Juried Exhibition in May of 2003. She
also helped in the installation process and many of Jennifer's ideas were
incorporated into the exhibit. Check back for more information about her
volunteering. For more information about the Ellipse Center, go to users.erols.com/leearts/Ellipse2003.html.
Jennifer has recently joined the Vienna Arts Society in Vienna,
Virginia. For those of you who don’t know, Jennifer also runs the
Freeman House Store and Museum in the historical district of Vienna and
has hence become very involved in this quaint little town just 5 miles
from the district. Jennifer now volunteers at the VAS once a month by
helping out in their arts center on Pleasant Street. The group is excited
to have Jennifer on board, as they are currently expanding their exhibit
space and plan to include sculpture, jewelry and other art accessories
in addition to their current collection of paintings. Jennifer hopes to
be instrumental in assisting this non-profit organization in realizing
their expansion goals. Stay tuned and visit the center when you can!
